Dr. Yang Yi received his B.Sc. in Genetics from Sichuan University, China in 1985, M.Sc. and D. Tech. Sc. in Aquaculture from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand in 1992 and 1997, respectively. His research interests include aquaculture production systems, aquaculture wastewater treatment and recycling, water quality analysis and management in aquaculture, fish genetics and information data. He was a Visiting Research Investigator at the University of Michigan, USA, where he gained advanced knowledge in computer modeling, experimental design and data analysis. He has 20 years of teaching and research experience in aquaculture. He is an Associate Professor at AIT seconded by the University of Michigan through USAID sponsored Aquaculture CRSP project, and is coordinating the aquaculture CRSP activities in South and Southeast Asian countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal and Vietnam as well as China. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Asian Fisheries Science.
